BROKEN SPECTRE

As a lifelong horror fan, I would’ve paid them to write about this game (but I’m glad it still worked the normal way).

Broken Spectre is a first person VR horror video game, from award-winning Canadian developer Games by Stitch. Working as part of the CONTINUE agency, I was brought in to consult on the script for the game’s Official Announcement Trailer, made to resemble an eerily retro 1950s National Park tourism ad, interspersed with terrifying images from the game.

From there, I crafted a press release highlighting the game’s unique John Carpenter meets Rocky Mountain aesthetic, plus the singular experience of looking down at your motion-captured hands and seeing them turn black from a snakebite. You gotta play this game!

Finally, I worked on the social media campaign, helping to build out a chipper Park Ranger character whose invitations to “happy campers” are all laced with chilling supernatural dread.
